MisMatched
Actor: JENNIFER LOPEZ
Film: "Angel Eyes"
Character: Sharon
Year: 2001
I would pretty much say that Jennifer Lopez is ALWAYS miscast, but 2001's "Angel Eyes" was legendary. Lopez starred as Sharon, a lonely, angry cop who meets a strange man. The two fall in love... blah blah blah. There's a laundry list of reasons she wasn't right for this; Her lack of talent, lack of chemistry with costar Jim Caviezel, the Bronx accent that follows her into EVERY role. I can go on and on.

Film: SUICIDE KINGS
Director: Peter O'Fallon
Actors: Christopher Walken, Denis Leary, Henry Thomas, Jeremy Sisto, Johnny Galecki, Sean Patrick Flanery, Jay Mohr, Laura Harris, Brad Garrett, Laura San Giacomo, Nina Siemaszko, Frank Whalen
Year: 1997
Synopsis: In order to find a missing girl, a group of friends kidnap a mob boss.
With a cast mostly made up of men, "Suicide Kings" is considered by many to be a 'guy's movie'. I have to disagree. Yes, there is an exceptional amount of testosterone on screen, but this film is character and plot driven (as opposed to action). When a close group of friends scheme to hold a mob boss (Walken) hostage, things take a turn for the worse when they realize they didn't anticipate everything. It's original, funny (Walken, Leary, and Galecki stand out), and a bit suspenseful. Take a chance on it.
Performance of the Day
Actor: RUSS TAMBLYN
Film: "West Side Story"
Character: Riff
Year: 1961
"West Side Story" is arguably one of the greatest movie musicals ever made. With perfect choreography, a great script, and a talented cast, it was a monster hit when it premiered. Russ Tamblyn, who played the leader of the Jets street gang, was especially terrific. He was passionate and gave Riff a sensitivity that he very much needed.

Actor: PAMELA ADLON
Show: "Californication"
Character: Marcy Runkle
Year: 2007-
She's been referred to as a little, sexy smurf and if you've seen the show, you'll know why. Tiny Pamela Adlon is terrific as the wife of asshole agent Charlie Runkle (played brilliantly by "Sex and the City" alum, Evan Handler). She's cutting, sarcastic, foul-mouthed, and funny as hell. She is definitely an important member of this fantastically talented cast. ** Adlon also voices the character Bobby on the show "King of the Hill".

Film: GREASE 2
Director: Patricia Birch
Actors: Michelle Pfeiffer, Maxwell Caulfield, Lorna Luft, Maureen Teefy, Didi Conn, Christopher McDonald, Pamela Adlon, Eve Arden, Sid Caesar, Adrian Zmed
Year: 1982
In an effort to capture the magic of the 1978 original, "Grease 2" was released. I've seen this film quite a few times, each one to see if maybe I can find something good. The only thing that saves this film from being the absolute worse thing to hit the silver screen is Michelle Pfeiffer (and honestly, her singing is atrocious). This movie follows Michael (Caulfield), who happens to be Sandy's (Olivia Newton John) cousin. He too has transferred to Rydell High and falls for an American greaser (Pfeiffer). It just doesn't do it for the audience. The story is tired, the cast is okay, and you won't really get into it. I'd recommend just skipping this turkey. **Lorna Luft, who plays Paulette... is the daughter of Judy Garland and producer Sidney Luft.

Film: WONDERLAND
Director: James Cox
Actors: Val Kilmer, Kate Bosworth, Lisa Kudrow, Josh Lucas, Dylan McDermott, Tim Blake Nelson, Christina Applegate, Natasha Gregson Wagner, Janeane Garofalo, Eric Bogosian
Year: 2003
Synopsis: An account of one of the biggest murder mysteries in Hollywood.
Have you ever heard of the 'Wonderland' murders? Well, I hadn't when I caught this unknown film years ago. Apparently, back in the early 80s, ex-porn star, John Holmes (Kilmer), got himself mixed up in a drugs and robberies, and this led to him to be strangely involved in the brutal murder of four people in the Hollywood Hills. The film is haunting and mesmerizing, especially since the audience knows it's a true story. Kilmer and a barely recognizable Lisa Kudrow stand out amongst a great cast. It's well worth a watch, just be prepared to squirm in some of the most graphic and violent scenes I've ever seen.

Actor: LAKE BELL
Show: "How to Make it in America"
Character: Rachel
Year: 2010-
From the producers and creators of "Entourage" comes a show about how to hustle in New York. The show centers around Ben, a young wannabe-entrepreneur, and equally success-hungry best friend Cam. One of the best parts of the show is Lake Bell. She plays Ben's ex-girlfriend. She's particularly great in her scenes with Martha Plimpton, who plays her boss, Edie. If you haven't caught an episode, you definitely should before the next season starts.

What a rush. Aging bad-asses Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, Brian Cox, and Bruce Willis are awesome in this witty, original action flick. Mirren and a hilarious Malkovich stand out in a phenomenal cast (even Bruce Willis, who is typically blah). Get you butt in gear and check this film out immediately.

(Rules: find the least amount of connections between the two actors. You must use professional connections, i.e film and television projects. No relationship connections (meaning no marriage, etc). You must type out each part of the connection. Example: George Clooney to Owen Wilson. You can do George to Brad Pitt in "Ocean's Eleven". Brad to Gwyneth Paltrow in "Seven". Gwyneth to Owen Wilson in "The Royal Tenenbaums". That would be 3 connections.)

He wasn't the best dancer, but 'Billy Elliot' touched our hearts with a story of hope and dedication. I never fancied Joseph Gordon-Levitt for a dancer, but he actually holds his own amongst the crowd of professionals. Shaking his groove-thing to Hall and Oates 'You Make My Dreams Come True' was just one of the reasons this film was so fun.
