2011 was the year of the Ginger...

Michael Fassbender and Jessica Chastain virtually came out of nowhere to have some of the most critically acclaimed performances in films like "Shame", "A Dangerous Method", and "Jane Erye" for Fassbender and "The Help" "The Tree of Life", "Take Shelter", and "The Debt" for Chastain. Both garnered a number of award nominations (including Golden Globes). Fassbender just got his first BAFTA nom for Best Actor and Chastain nabbed her first Oscar nomination for Supporting Actress.

Emma Stone became a mainstream leading lady with a move from supporting roles in "Superbad" and "Zombieland" to "Crazy, Stupid, Love" and the Oscar-nominated "The Help". She's gearing up for another huge year, having spent 2011 filming two of the most anticipated films of 2012 "The Amazing Spiderman" and "The Gangster Squad".

Damian Lewis landed a starring role in the amazing series "Homeland" and is well on his way to all sorts of accolades. He's tremendous as a recovered military man with a dangerous secret.

Lindsay Lohan was at the top of the gossip heap with her legal dramas and crazy antics. She hasn't actually been a red-head all year, which is probably a good thing for the ginger community. Here's hoping that she gets some sense slapped into her. Get some serious help, Lohan!!!

Reincarnations

Some people are going to disagree, but I think Lindsay Lohan might be the modern day Demi Moore. I know what you are thinking. It's an insult to compare Demi today with Lindsay today. What you might not know is Demi went through her own drug and alcohol problems in the late 80s (and it nearly ended her career. She was almost fired from "St. Elmo's Fire"). Fortunately for her, she got her act together and hopefully La Vida Lohan will too (although it isn't looking promising). If that doesn't convince you, check out the similar features (the green eyes and tiny nose) and that raspy voice. Oh, and both come from highly dysfunctional, low-class families.

Rising star Emma Stone seems to be moving into former 'It' girl, Lindsay Lohan's space. Lohan has been out of the game for awhile (we all know why) and Stone is quickly becoming the girl to watch.
