We know for sure that Cher's dark features can at least partly be attributed to her half-Armenian ethnicity (her father is full Armenian). It is unclear, however, if she also possesses Cherokee ancestry (I've read several different stories). I've also read she is a bit English and French.
... many actresses were considered for the roles of Thelma and Louise (writer and producer Callie Khouri desperately wanted to cast Holly Hunter and Frances McDormand, but that idea was nixed). A few were offered parts (Michelle Pfeiffer,Kathleen Turner, Cher, Debra Winger), but turned them down. Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep wanted to do a film together and they considered this, but ultimately decided on "Death Becomes Her".
Actors: Cher, Winona Ryder, Bob Hoskins, Christina Ricci, Michael Schoeffling
Year: 1990
Synopsis: A young girl comes of age in a new town.
Cher leads a fantastic cast in this wonderful flick. Ryder stars as Charlotte, a strange teen who wants desperately to become a nun. Things change when she meets Joe (Schoeffling). Cher is perfect as Charlotte's somewhat trampy mother. It's a great film.
