Candid of the Week

In 1946, Joan Crawford was nominated for Best Actress for her role in "Mildred Pierce". Thinking she might not win, Crawford reportedly faked an illness and skipped the Oscar ceremony. All the while, she listened to the radio broadcast of the event and kept a group of press members standing by. When she heard her name, she instructed the press to come in and accepted her Oscar from her bed. What a drama queen!
