Quote of the Day

(an alien bug is crawling inside Harry's leg)

Dr. Reed: What are you gonna do?

Dr. Paulson: We might have to amputate.

Harry: Whoa, Doc! Don't take the leg! Ira, don't let them take my leg.

Ira: Isn't there anything else you can do? He thinks he's an athlete.

Nurse: Doctor, look!

Dr. Paulson: It's headed for his testicles.

Harry: Take it! Take it! Take the leg!

Film: THE X-FILES: FIGHT THE FUTURE

Director: Rob Bowman

Actors: David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Martin Landau, Mitch Pileggi, Blythe Danner, Terry O'Quinn, Armin Mueller-Stahl, Lucas Black

Year: 1998

The television show was excellent, but I'm not sure where the writers were going with this confusing and, often times, boring feature film. The story is just bad. If you want the thrill of extra-terrestrials mixed with a little Mulder and Scully, then Netflix instant watch the show or even check out the film sequel, "The X-Files: I Want to Believe", which was a hell of a lot better.

Brit of the Week

Minnie Driver (Jan. 31, 1970) was born in London, the product of an affair. Driver was raised in Barbados, but moved back to England as a teen. She attended the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. She began her career with stage roles and bit television spots, but it was her role as 'Benny' in 1995's "Circle of Friends" (for which she gained 30 pounds) that made her recognizable. Driver went on to costar in "Grosse Pointe Blank", "Sleepers", and "GoldenEye". It was her performance as 'Skylar' in 1997's "Good Will Hunting" that earned her Oscar and SAG nominations for Best Supporting Actress. She has since had starring roles in "Beautiful", "The Governess", "Return to Me", and "The Phantom of the Opera". Next up for Driver, "Conviction" (with Sam Rockwell and Hilary Swank), and "Goats" (with David Duchovny and Vera Farmiga).
