This African beauty made her mark playing characters ranging from unstable to courageous. Theron went very much against type in the film "Monster", which required that she gain thirty pounds and wear prosthetic skin. She delivered a powerful, haunting performance and took home an Oscar as well (becoming the first African actress to do so).
