I remember seeing this movie when it came out. It's pitch-perfect depiction of a teenage boy was both moving and hilarious. Charlie Talbert, who stars as the title character, stands out amongst a cast that includes James Van Der Beek, Kathy Bates, George C. Scott, and Rita Moreno. You really understand him and spend two hours rooting for him.
