Flick of the Day

Film: FAME
Director: Alan Parker
Actors: Irene Cara, Paul McCrane, Barry Miller, Maureen Teefy, Gene Anthony Ray, Laura Dean, Antonia Franceschi, Lee Curreri
Year: 1980

Synopsis: A look at several students through four years at a New York public performing arts school.

They tried to remake this in 2009, but you can't get a better film about a group of talented kids who try to prepare themselves for a life of performing. The music is great, the acting good, and the story draws you in. Irene Cara, who hit a super high in her career when she won the Oscar for Best Song (the theme song to "Flashdance") stars as Coco.
