In one of the most amazing performances of the decade, British-born Chiwetel Ejiofor dazzles as hard-working illegal immigrant Okwe. Once a prominent doctor (in his homeland), Okwe is forced to work several dead-end jobs, in order to pay the rent. When he gets tangled up with an illegal black-market operation, he is forced to use his medical skills to protect his dear friend, Senay (Tautou), who is also illegal. Ejoifor is tremendous and possesses the ability to convey deep emotions with nothing more than a facial expression. I highly recommend this overlooked, independent film marvel.
