I always love an adaptation, especially if it is done well. 1978's "The Wiz" did just that to the classical (and white) story of "The Wizard of Oz". Diana Ross (perhaps too old for the part of Dororthy), Lena Horne, and Michael Jackson all star in this fun-filled film that features great music by producer/writer Quincy Jones.
