Film: "Mary Reilly"
Character: Mary Reilly
Year: 1996

There's no denying that Julia Roberts is one of the biggest stars in the world. That doesn't, however, mean that she cannot fail. When she ambitiously took on the role of 'Mary Reilly', in 1996's film of the same title, no one seemed to notice that she didn't have the stuff for the part. To start off, it's a completely serious role. Reilly is meek, shy, and painfully pathetic. Roberts is the complete opposite... and let's not get started on the Irish accent she had to do. A more versatile actor (Streep or Sarandon) could have done this part in their sleep, but as for Roberts... well, just stick to strong female characters.
