I know we all thought she was perfect as Ugly Betty, but at this point in her career, America Ferrera has limits. In the indie film "Steel City", she's cast as a small town waitress who falls in love with the main protagonist (Tom Guiry). It's hard to see America as a small town gal. She's really got that urban thing going on... and no, it isn't because she's Latina. It's in her acting; her accent, the way she holds herself, etc. Also, she and Guiry have no real chemistry. It's hard to see why they like each other. I understand producers probably wanted a big name, but Ferrera just doesn't work and it probably hurt the film more than it helped.
