Nia Vardolas based this film on her play (of the same name) and also on her real life (she is married to "Cougar Town" Latino actor Ian Gomez). The laughs come a mile a minute in this hilarious portrayal of a Greek-American family planning a wedding for the daughter they had all assumed would be an old maid. Andrea Martin is phenomenal as Aunt Voula. "You don't eat no meat? That's alright, I make lamb."
