Synopsis: In order to find a missing girl, a group of friends kidnap a mob boss.

With a cast mostly made up of men, "Suicide Kings" is considered by many to be a 'guy's movie'. I have to disagree. Yes, there is an exceptional amount of testosterone on screen, but this film is character and plot driven (as opposed to action). When a close group of friends scheme to hold a mob boss (Walken) hostage, things take a turn for the worse when they realize they didn't anticipate everything. It's original, funny (Walken, Leary, and Galecki stand out), and a bit suspenseful. Take a chance on it.

Synopsis: An introverted loner falls in love with a mechanic.

I had the pleasure of seeing this odd film a few years back and it still stands out in my mind. It's original, well cast, and strangely humorous. Angela Bettis stars as May, a girl never equipped with the tools for a normal social life (thanks to her over-bearing mother). I don't want to give anything else away, so just see it.

"Clueless" became the movie of a generation of kids in the mid 90s (perhaps even leading to the epidemic of the 'whatever' mentality inflicting young adults and teens today). Alicia Silverstone became a bonafide star after her turn as a snotty, selffish, rich girl, who busies herself with the love lives of others. Based on Jane Austen's Emma, this comedy shows that ditzy can be smart.
