When the show began, Drea de Matteo had a very small role... that of Christopher's girlfriend. As time went on, de Matteo worked her way up to a supporting role. De Matteo was perfect as the superficial, catty Adriana, but what made her special is that she added depth to a shallow role. De Matteo is one of the best parts of the show and her performance was definitely Emmy-worthy (she took one home in 2004).
